First off – thank you!!! Thank you to all the amazing friends and family that made yesterday (my 28th birthday) so special. Cards in the mail, flowers and cake at work, and a night at home with Avery that I didn’t have to cook! (our neighbor and her kids invited us over so we ate and played!). Talk about a good birthday!
And you would think today my excitement level would be back down to normal – but NOOOOOO because Avery’s 2nd birthday party is tomorrow and I am sooo much more excited for that than I was for my birthday! We’re off tonight to VT for the weekend to celebrate.
So last night after all the birthday excitement and Avery was asleep, I went to work! I did the usual clean up, but also wrapped Avery’s birthday presents, packed his bag for the weekend, and made a treat…
I bought this little number at the grocery store two weeks ago – thrilled to make a treat for Avery to bring to school to celebrate his birthday.
It was $2.50 and made 24 donuts. Score! This looked perfect for toddlers – small for tiny hands and tiny mouths and not too much sugar if they only eat one or two each, haha.
Prepping them was super easy. And I think I made them smaller than I was supposed to because I ended up with 27 donuts.
3. Assembly Line
I had to taste test one of them… yum! They’re like little cake balls with yummy glaze and sprinkles… delish! (as if I didn’t get enough sweets on my bday – I hear the treadmill calling…)
5. My Taste Tester
Within seconds, it was gone! I think he liked them. He asked for more but I explained that he was bringing them to school to share… can’t wait to hear how everyone liked them when I pick Avery up tonight!
Do you send treats with your kids to school on their special day? Give me some good ideas for next year!
