Sticking to a running ‘schedule’ hasn’t been my strongest suit. Mind you, I do have legit commitments like family and work that come first, but man is it tough getting two runs in a week!
I was a complete slacker Easter weekend. I had a run scheduled for Easter morning and thanks to an exhausting Saturday of wedding planning (for my cousin) and a birthday party dinner (for my Mom), I was exhausted and passed out early and had NO motivation to run in the morning. That started my week on a major DOWN. I picked myself back UP once the work week started again and made up some ground and ran my usual Wednesday night run. I also hit up Zumba on my usual Tuesday night with Erin, and guess who stopped me after the class? The instructor. This time it wasn’t to correct my dancing skills (like my pathetic first and second zumba classes), but it was to complement me on how much weight I’ve lost. Awe, felt so great!

5 weeks to go and we’re already at 2 1/2 miles! Mind you, my pace is wicked slow. But at this point, it’s all about finishing the 3.1 miles – I’ll work on a faster run after I’ve got the distance figured out. Oh and I have to add, I am a wreck this week. I caught a cold Avery had and I’m all congested and head’s throbbing. Seriously, my best friend right now a my tissue box. Bleck.
I hope to make it to Zumba or Kickboxing this weekend and definetly run a faster 2 1/2 miles on Sunday. The weather is looking up too… sunny and less windy, in the 50s. Not long before I can run outside with Avery.
And the other UP this week? My ‘dream’ to run 13 races in 2013 might just come true. I have the one scheduled for in May that I’m training for. BUT this week I signed up with some friends for a color run in July. That’s two races… only 9 more to schedule!
